I am a 2013 Terry Scholar.
The Terry Foundation is the largest private scholarship endowment in the state of Texas. It's full scholarship for 4 years, earned through academic merits, leadership attributes, and financial need. This scholarship has allowed me to explore my career and develop skills.
I've made the Dean's List 6 times.
The Bauer Business Honors Program is one of the most competitive programs in the nation. I consistently meet this goal.
I've taken almost twice the required Honors courses.
While some may see Honors courses as "more difficult," I see an opportunity to gain insight into an industry from a committed professor, in a smaller setting. The class may be more work, but it's a smaller environment where you can network and grow. It's more in-depth material: you focus on why history happened as opposed to just what happened.
Regardless of where I start my career, my focus will be on two objectives. First and foremost is making an impact. Whether I'm creating advertising campaigns, doing corporate recruiting, or managing accounts - I want my presence to be felt at a company. An organization that hires me is making an investment, and I know I'll be able to provide dividends. My second goal is growing and developing professionally. I've learned a lot at the University of Houston, but nothing beats real world experience. I want to diversify my knowledge and abilities while at the same time begin to master a specific skill.
