My family came to the United States when I was 10 years old, relocating to the small community of Conroe, TX. I adapted to the change and thrived, becoming Student Body President of Conroe High School and earning a full scholarship to the Honors College at the University of Houston.
In the Honors College, I immersed myself into the organization's culture. By working in the Student Services Office, I developed a relationship with faculty and staff that quickly evolved into a significant network. I became an Honors Mentor to help shape incoming cohorts, and an Honors Advocates Coordinator to help recruit the best of the best.
As graduation approaches in May of 2017, I look to find a role at an organization where I can apply my classroom knowledge and other experiences. I've taken courses in Marketing Strategies, Digital Marketing, Applied Buyer Behavior and many others.
To this day however, my strongest characteristic is being bi-cultural, and having a fundamental understanding of the Hispanic consumer. I can make my way through Mexico City as seamlessly as I can through downtown Houston. Mexican-American generations are growing exponentially, particularly in the Houston area.
