noun. the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.
Though this may be Google's official definition, I think marketing is a broad term that encompasses many things. It can be public or private sector, selling a product or selling a service. I see marketing as being the solution business. You should mold whatever you're selling to become the solution for your target audience.
at the University of Houston
My current role in the University of Houston's Office of Administration is assisting the marketing and communications team with effectively bridging the gap between auxiliary services and the student body. Supporting the team includes projects like writing press releases about textbook loans, or creating a map for weekly art walks. I also assist in event planning and support, and provide input for the creation of student communication strategies.
at HomeAid Houston
My internship at HomeAid Houston gave me great experience in sales and customer service. I was in charge of Project Playhouse: the raffle of a children's playhouse that would fund the building of a shelter for Houston's homeless.
I also assisted in side projects highlighted by the Houston Chronicle. This exhibit was a heartfelt experience for me that still serves as a reminder to give back to the community.
with Frontier Fiesta
